Song Xiaobing is a distinguished professor at the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering. He is primarily responsible for undergraduate courses, including Structural Ideation and Architectural Design, Structural Model Design and Fabrication, Principles of Concrete Structures, Fundamentals of Mechanics, Introduction to Engineering, and Architectural Mechanics. Over the past three years, he has taught an average of 298 hours per year. Throughout his teaching career, Professor Song has maintained a student-centered teaching philosophy with the goal of cultivating creative and adaptable students.

In addition to his teaching duties, Professor Song has led three key teaching reform projects in Shanghai and eight school-level teaching reform projects, and has received multiple awards for teaching achievement at the university, municipal, and national levels. He was recognized with the first Jiahe Excellent Teaching Award at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Second Prize in the National Higher Education Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition (Senior Title Group), the Top Prize in the second Shanghai Higher Education Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition (Senior Title Group), the Outstanding Contribution Award in the National Structural Design Competition for College Students, and the Excellent Teaching Award at the university.
