RECRUITMENT
for Foreign Students for Japanese Government's Scholarship
Ritsumeikan University is recruiting foreign students from Asian nations to participate in the "Industry-University Cooperative IT Management Human Resources Development Program" from September 2008. This program is supported by the Japanese Government's "Asia Human Resources Fund", and participants will attend the program as Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship Students.
This program is a two (2) year Master level program within the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, and graduates will be conferred a Master's Degree. The goal of this program is to foster excellent IT management human resources, i.e. high-level IT engineers who possess technology management (MOT) and business Japanese skills.
1. Program
Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University (Master's Level)
Major: Advanced Information Science and Engineering
Program: "Industry-University Cooperative IT Management Human Resources Development Program"
2. Eligibility and Conditions
· Must be a university graduate, or expect to graduate by September 2008.
· Must have an exceptional academic record.
· Must have a level of Japanese proficiency equivalent to the Level 2 Japanese Proficiency Exam.
· Upon graduation, must have a desire to work for Japanese company or a local affiliate of Japanese companiy.

3. Scholarship Details
A monthly stipend of 160,000 JPY will be disbursed to the student for two (2) years, from October 2008 to September 2010. New students who come from abroad will receive 170,000 JPY for the first twelve (12) months. Please note that the scholarship amount is subject to change.

4. Certification of Japanese proficiency (if any)
* Documents submitted with the application will not be returned to the applicant.
* Successful applicants will be required to submit additional documentation.

Documents must be received by Friday, December 14th 2007
6. Selection Process
1) First Selection (Document Screening) * Result Notification (E-mail): Mid-January, 2008
2) Second Selection (Interview): January/February, 2008 *Final Result Notification(E-mail): Late February, 2008
