The Tokyo Trial is the most significant post-war Allied trial, which made a verdict of war crimes of over 20 accused war crimes, as well as concluded the Japan’s Aggression War. The Tokyo Trial reflected a series of significant political, diplomatic and military incidents in the first half of 20th Century. To introduce the basic history of the Trial and the East Asia politics and diplomacy that is reflected in The Trial, there are 5 respects as follows: 1. The ways by which the Allied Powers established the IMTFE. 2. The court proceedings (3 May 1946- 12 November 1948). 3. The Sino-Japanese relations between 1928-1945 and 14-year Anti-Japanese War that were reflected in the Tokyo Trial. 4. The Pacific War that was reflected in the Tokyo Trial. 5. The Japanese war crimes and atrocities during the War. The aims of the lessons are to make the students: 1. Have a brief understanding about the IMTFE and its historical significance. 2. Have a fundamental understanding about the East Asia and Pacific theatre politics, diplomacy, military incidents and historical development during the 1920-1940s. 3. Form a deep thinking about the East Asia ‘s political development over 70 years. |
