《世界文化史》课程系上海交通大学通识教育核心课程，是面向全校本科生的选修类课程。 本课程讲述自上古时期到当今各国历史时期中外一些主要民族和地区文化演化的轨迹，并且对于中外文化交流的状况作系统性评述。主要专题性内容包括：文明与文化概念的诠释和理解、原始文化及人类文明之初、埃及金字塔文明、西亚文明、希伯来·犹太文明、印度文明、爱琴文明：希腊文化的辉煌、罗马：对希腊文化的继承和弘扬、欧洲中世纪（500-1500）千余年的文化积淀、近代欧洲的扩张和拓展：欧洲文化逐步征服全球、现代文明的冲击：美国人的影响、结论——中西文化的撞击和交流等。 通过这些内容，一方面使得学生系统了解中外文化史的线索，理解一些主要文化内容在不同历史时期的表现；另一方面，要使学生学会鉴别一点的文化事件，学会理解历史发生的原因和规律，并且使他们重新思考中国文化的优劣，最终通过文化交流现象进行一定的比较，善于思索，学会分析不同民族的文化或者某一文化内容为何在特定历史环境或时期内产生决定性的影响，最终目标之一是提高学生的历史感、社会责任感和主体意识感。 Cultural History and Cross-Culture is a course which brings students all sorts of knowledge about a history of the main districts and nations in the world. Through studying this course, students will get and understand the cultural knowledge of the main nations including cultures of primitive humans,developing of primitive religion, and different culure of many civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt,India,Greece and Rome in the ancient era. We also bring students about the Middle Ages (500-1500）,the Modern Time（1500-1900）about Europe and the American culture in the 20 century. We think that it is useful for students systemic understand to the knowledge of cultural history, beneficial to improve students’ self-pride and self-trust,which is also our most important teaching goal.
