数学史

(中文300-500字,含课程性质、主要教学内容、课程教学目标等) 本课程是让学生体会到“数学真有用”的系列尝试之一,试图通过精选的史实,生动、有趣的案例,让学生感悟到数学是与普通人的日常生活息息相关的,提高大学生对数学的认识、素质与兴趣,提高大学生的应用数学能力。介绍数学史典故、重大数学事件与重要数学家,其中包括:古希腊数学、中国数学、15~18世纪的数学、近代数学史及现代计算机数学史。内容丰富,有助于开阔视野,提高对数学的理解。 通过本门课程的学习,期望培养学生理解“数学真有用”的能力,从而在“发现问题、分析问题和解决问题”的层面上,提高大学生的视野和数学素质。 本课程采用启发式的教学形式,使学生在教师引导下,自己从本课程数学教学案例中领悟数学、理解数学。使学生自己真正学懂数学,体验到数学也是一门可应用的世俗事业,体验到“数学真有用”,而不是被“教会”数学。从教学案例中培养学生寻找与总结内在关系和规律的能力,并且体会数学应用的艰辛和乐趣,让学生看到最真实的而不仅仅是逻辑数学,看到数学运行的原生态。 A history of Mathematics is one of a series of experiencing mathematics useful courses. It helps students recognize that mathematics is closely linked with daily life by explaining the chosen typical historical facts and interesting cases, and improves student’s mathematical understanding, mathematical quality and interest, and ability to apply mathematics. This course covers some allusions, major events and famous scientists in the history of mathematics, such as classical Greek mathematics, Chinese mathematics, mathematics from 15th century to18th Century, modern mathematics and computer mathematics .These contents are plentiful and helpful for students to widen their eyes and to improve their understanding of math. It helps students to experience mathematics useful, and cultivate their ability of finding problems, analyzing problems and solving problems, thus improve their mathematics quality. By heuristic teaching method, students can comprehend mathematical idea and shape the thinking of mathematics from the teaching cases, not learn mathematical knowledge only with logic way. When solving teaching cases, students’ capacity of finding internal laws is cultivated, and hardship and joy of mathematical application is experienced.
