工作、学习简历：
男，博士，特聘教授，1968年出生，1998毕业于华中农业大学，获分子生物学博士学位，1998年获首届德国学术交流协会首届“生物科学特别项目奖”，1999-2001在德国Osnabrueck大学任博士后研究员， 2007年作为中国代表团代表赴纽约参加联合国关于深海生物基因资源保护的非正式磋商。2007年获得“新世纪百千万人才工程”国家级人选称号。2008年被评为厦门市劳动模范，2008年担任中国大洋深海考察第一个生物航段首席科学家。
研究方向：
在国内率先开展了深海微生物的研究。参与组织建设了深海微生物研究平台体系，发展了深海嗜压细菌分离培养、极端嗜热嗜压古菌分离培养、深海环境基因组构建分析等三项关键技术，分离培养出一系列深海耐嗜压细菌。主持了国家杰出青年基金、自然科学基金重点项目、海洋863重点项目、中国大洋专项、973子项目等，发表SCI论文约40篇，其中两篇论文分别被Nature China网站选为亮点论文及推荐为优秀论文。
